Blue Zones Project Palm Springs and The Center’s Community Food Bank are joining forces for a day of generosity and impact in honor of National Food Bank Day. The Food-A-Thon, set for Friday, September 5 from 9 am–6 pm, invites residents to rally around a shared goal: collecting 2,500 pounds of food to support the more than 350 individuals and families who rely on The Center’s food bank daily.
“This event is more than a food drive—it’s a call to action,” said Charles Huff, Director of Food Security at The Center. “By coming together with the team from Blue Zones Project Palm Springs, we’re not only addressing an urgent need—we’re sending a strong message that everyone in Palm Springs deserves access to healthy, nutritious food.”
The Food-A-Thon encourages attendees to become Food-A-Thon Ambassadors, engaging their circles to contribute and spread the word. Most-needed items include shelf-stable proteins like peanut butter and beans, dry goods such as pasta and rice, healthy snacks, and even pet food.
Held at The Center’s Community Food Bank, the event reflects Palm Springs’ commitment to compassion, health, and community resilience. Every donation—large or small—helps build a stronger, more inclusive future.
