When Kim Manfredi moved to the desert, she immediately noticed a divide in the Coachella Valley art scene. Artists in the western end rarely explored beyond galleries in Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Palm Desert while those in the east kept closer to La Quinta, Indio, and Coachella. โThere was a vibrant scene on the east side, mainly Hispanic artists, and there was a vibrant scene in Palm Springs, mainly white folks,โ Manfredi says. โI wanted the language of those populations [to speak to each other]…โ
