Food Samaritans (AAP) announced today that the Desert Tennis Association will continue its long-time support of AAP by donating the proceeds from the upcoming 26th Annual Palm Springs Open to AAP to support its food voucher program for low-income Coachella Valley residents living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses. Since 2001, the Desert Tennis Association is proud to have donated more than $100,000 to AAP – Food Samaritans.

The Palm Springs Open is an international tennis tournament run by the DTA that attracts more than 300 LGBT players from around the world. Admission is free to all who would like to watch players from all around the world compete in one of the largest LGBTQ tennis tournaments. Semi-finals and finals will be on Sunday, November 28, starting at 8 AM at Sunrise Country Club in Rancho Mirage.

A Player Welcome Party will place on Thursday, November 25 (Thanksgiving) from 7 to 9 PM at Hunter’s Palm Springs, 302 E. Arenas Road. A no-cost Player’s party with a silent auction and raffle benefitting AAP – Food Samaritans will also be held at Hunter’s at 7 PM on Saturday, November 27.
