Modernism Week Architecture Tours

Modernism Week has announced the return of its season‑long Modernism Week Architecture Tours, offering an extended opportunity for visitors and locals to explore Palm Springs’ world‑renowned architectural heritage. Running from February 1 through May, these small‑group, expert‑guided bus tours provide what the organization calls the definitive modernist architecture experience in the city. Tickets are now available at https://modernismweek.com/architecture-tours.

Led by seasoned Modernism Week guides, the tours are designed for architecture enthusiasts of all levels—scholars, design professionals, students, and anyone curious about the region’s distinctive midcentury legacy. Each 22‑seat mini‑coach tour begins with an introduction to Palm Springs’ early development and the pivotal role modern architecture played in shaping the city’s identity.

Guests travel in a comfortable, climate‑controlled vehicle as guides deliver a master‑class‑level overview of desert modernism. Along the route, participants encounter hundreds of real‑world examples of significant modern, Spanish, and contemporary structures. The experience is enriched by engaging stories—sometimes humorous, always insightful—about the architects, designers, and visionaries who helped define Palm Springs as an international design destination.

“Modernism Week has extensive experience curating and leading group and private architectural tours for more than 20 years,” said Lisa Vossler Smith, CEO of Modernism Week. “We are proud to offer to locals and visitors the most enjoyable and knowledgeable tour, and a very comfortable way for you and friends to experience a driving tour of the most important modern, Spanish and contemporary buildings of Palm Springs.”

The seasonal tours complement Modernism Week’s two annual festivals held each October and February. Those interested in ongoing updates can visit modernismweek.com and follow the organization on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and X.
