The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA) officially concluded its 2025 Global Convention in Palm Springs, California, marking the largest attendance in the organization’s history. Drawing approximately 750 delegates and 465 businesses representing 30 countries and territories, this yearโ€™s event was a powerful demonstration of visibility, connection, and community in advancing the global LGBTQ+ travel industry.

Visit Greater Palm Springs proudly served as the official Host City Partner, welcoming the international delegation to the renowned desert oasis.

A Powerful Message of Visibility

The record turnout came at a critical time, a point underscored by IGLTA President/CEO, John Tanzella (he/him).

Seeing our industry stand together with such pride and purpose is a powerful reminder that representation isnโ€™t just important, itโ€™s essential,โ€ Tanzella said. Convention Highlights and Industry Impact

The 2025 Global Convention was packed with activities that showcased its international reach and economic power:

  • Record Attendance: Approximately 750 delegates from 30 countries were present.
  • Business Representation: 465 businesses spanning tourism, hospitality, and media participated.
  • Marketplace Power: A two-day Buyer/Supplier Marketplace featured buyers representing an estimated $700 million in tourism business.
  • Leadership in Inclusion: The event saw the launch of the Gender Diverse Travel Advisory Groupโ€™s guide, a new resource for navigating global travel.
  • Emerging Voices: Recognition was given to the 2025 IGLTA Foundation Fellowship recipients, five emerging voices shaping the future of global LGBTQ+ tourism leadership.
  • Media Presence: The convention hosted nearly 70 global LGBTQ+ travel media, marking its largest-ever media turnout.
  • Empowerment: A powerful Womenโ€™s Leadership panel celebrated visibility, empowerment, and collaboration.
  • New Data: Keynote speaker David Allison (he/him) presented new values-driven LGBTQ+ data to attendees.
  • Fundraising Success: The IGLTA Foundationโ€™s Voyage fundraiser, held at the iconic Dinah Shore Estate, was its most successful to date, raising more than $120,000 to support inclusive travel initiatives.
  • Public Art Dedication: The city cemented its commitment to the LGBTQ+ community with the dedication of the Arenas District Gilbert Baker Pride Flag and the unveiling of a permanent public art installation, the Pride Monument.

IGLTA extended its gratitude to the City of Palm Springs for its extraordinary hospitality and visible support throughout the event.
