The Plaza Theatre has reached a remarkable milestone, surpassing its annual programming goal of 120 events in just 121 days—an achievement that firmly establishes the historic Palm Springs venue as Southern California’s newest entertainment destination. Since reopening on December 1, 2025, the revitalized 700‑seat downtown theatre, managed by Oak View Group (OVG), has welcomed sold‑out national touring acts, expanded opportunities for local arts organizations, and drawn audiences from across the globe.
The theatre’s rapid success is projected to generate $40 million in annual economic impact and $4 million in annual tax benefit for the City of Palm Springs. Greg O’Dell, President of Venue Management for OVG, praised the accomplishment, noting the theatre’s strong start following its reopening with Cynthia Erivo.
