As temperatures rise, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and Mount San Jacinto State Park (MSJSP) welcome the return of extended hours, guided nature walks, and summer programs, officially marking the start of the season over Memorial Day Weekend.
Extended Hours & Holiday Schedule
Visitors can enjoy later tram rides on Fridays and Saturdays beginning May 23 through September 1, 2025, with the last tram up at 9:00 p.m. and last tram down at 10:30 p.m. Memorial Day Weekend holiday hours include:
- Sunday, May 25: Last tram up at 9:00 p.m., last tram down at 10:30 p.m.
- Monday, May 26: First tram up at 8:00 a.m., last tram up at 8:00 p.m., last tram down at 9:30 p.m.
- Peaks Restaurant will extend its last seating to 8:30 p.m., while Pines Café will remain open until 9:30 p.m., offering guests additional dining options during evening visits.
Guided Nature Walks Return
Beginning May 25, State Park volunteers will resume Guided Nature Walks every Sunday through September 1. Visitors can explore:
- Desert View Trail – a 1.5-mile walk starting at 11:00 a.m.
- Long Valley Nature Trail – a 0.75-mile loop beginning at 1:30 p.m.
No advance registration is required, and participation is included with regular Tramway admission.
Summer Programs at Mount San Jacinto State Park & Natural History Association
Running through August 30, the MSJSP summer programs offer educational experiences designed to enhance visitors’ understanding of the park’s natural beauty and ecological significance. Details can be found at parks.ca.gov.
Additionally, the Natural History Association (NHA) will host special summer programming featuring interactive events and lectures. More information is available at msjnha.org/events.
