Celebrate Black History Month with the INNER CIRCLE ARTS SOCIETY!

The Palm Springs Cultural Center is excited to announce its collaboration with the Inner Circle Arts Society, a premier Black owned arts group in Southern California, for the world premiere of "A Sacred Obligation" and the much-anticipated return of “Medgar X’n James.”

A Sacred Obligation: 7PM, February 21st-22nd, 28th-29th

“A Sacred Obligation” is an original, never before seen production in the dynamic new theatrical style of DocuTheater, which brings history to life using videographic documentary alongside live actor portrayals. The audience will be immersed in the drama and tragedy of the life of John Brown and will experience this important story in an unforgettable way.

Medgar X’n James: 7PM, February 23rd-25th and March 1st-2nd

Medgar X’n James is an original solo play that offers a fresh, unique perspective on three of American history’s most important men: Medgar Evars, Malcolm X and James Baldwin. 

Both productions are original pieces written by Inner Circle founder Joachim Moore. Moore is known for his historical research and exploration of themes that are relevant now more than ever. These are stories that must be told, as they are an honest exploration of the power, beauty and tragedy of the past, bringing to light essential truths about our present. Their voices need to be heard - and we’re fortunate to have them brought back within a younger generation!
