The City of Palm Springs Department of Parks & Recreation has announced that the Demuth Park Pickleball Courts will undergo a major expansion, beginning Monday, September 22, 2025. The project will require the temporary closure of the existing courts to transform the facility into a premier pickleball destination.
The Demuth Park Pickleball Courts Expansion Project is expected to take approximately eight months, with an anticipated opening in spring 2026. The completed facility will feature 22 new courts, including one tournament court. Additional improvements will include new lighting, enhanced sidewalks, shade structures, and new trees to improve the overall player comfort and aesthetic of the park.
To ensure pickleball players can continue to enjoy the sport during construction, the City has partnered with the College of the Desert to provide 12 temporary courts. These courts are located at the College’s satellite campus on South Hermosa Drive, near East Baristo Road, and are currently open for public use.
For questions regarding the project, please contact the City of Palm Springs Department of Parks & Recreation at Pickleball@PalmSpringsCA.gov or by calling (760) 323-8272.
