Coachella Valley Pride Hockey

The Coachella Valley is gearing up for the Palm Springs International Pride Hockey Tournament, taking place from February 20โ€“23, 2025. Presented by the Coachella Valley Firebirds through the One Valley Foundation, this tournament will bring together 16 teams and players from across the United States and Canada to Acrisure Arena and the Berger Foundation Iceplex.

Organized by the Coachella Valley Pride Hockey Association, the tournament aims to increase hockey accessibility for everyone in the region by engaging LGBTQ+ athletes and advocates. Beyond competition, the event emphasizes the power of hockey to unite people, foster inclusivity, and create positive change.

“Visibility is important in hockeyโ€”and all sportsโ€”because it fosters inclusivity, representation, and acceptance,” says Paul Oโ€™Kane, Co-Founder and President of the Coachella Valley Pride Hockey Association. “The Coachella Valley has a much larger representation of LGBTQ+ people than other regions. The Coachella Valley Pride Hockey Association is committed to connecting this community to hockey and encouraging participation in the sport. Ultimately, visibility isnโ€™t just about individual playersโ€”itโ€™s about making hockey a more inclusive space for everyone, whether players, coaches, or fans.”

The tournament is open to the public with free admission and parking. While the action might not match the speed of the Firebirds, spectators can expect exciting games featuring players from across North America who share a passion for the sport.
