Event Details
Dr. Carsten Smidt, a nutrition scientist with over 30 years of experience in the dietary supplement industry and a Ph.D. from UC Davis, will lead a lively 90-minute talk and discussion on what really works in supplements and how nutrition needs evolve with age. Drawing on his insider perspective, he’ll separate evidence from marketing hype—covering commonly used supplements like multivitamins, vitamin D, vitamin B12, and omega-3s—while also exploring how factors such as protein intake, bone health, and changing metabolism affect well-being after 65. The session will combine a brief presentation with interactive discussion and Q&A, offering practical, science-based advice.
This event is free (donations to offset cost of room appreciated). Everyone is welcome.
