The City of Palm Springs invites residents to roll up their sleeves and bring new life to well‑loved household items at the Palm Springs Free Fix‑It Fair, taking place Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Mizell Center. Hosted by the City’s Sustainability Department in partnership with Repeat Reuse, the event offers community members the chance to have one item repaired at no cost by skilled volunteer fixers. From bicycles and small appliances to clothing, toys, lamps, and tools, the fair encourages repair over replacement—helping reduce waste while empowering residents to extend the life of everyday items.
ACE Hardware will also be on-site providing convenient battery replacements for car key fobs and small remote devices, sharing updates on recent light‑bulb changes, and offering attendees a coupon for free in‑store knife sharpening. Space is limited, and advance registration is required, with one item permitted per person. Residents can sign up here.
The event is generously sponsored by the City of Palm Springs, Ace Hardware of Palm Springs, Alcorn Adaptive Bike and Mobility Shop, and Palm Springs Disposal Services. For more information, community members may contact contact@fixitps.org.
