The Del Shores Foundation has announced a landmark fundraising achievement: a record-breaking $150,000 in donations during September 2025, marking its most successful month to date. The contributions come from three distinguished partnersโ€”the Edward F. Limato Foundation, the Red Ribbon Charitable Foundation, and Edie Cofrin, Trustee of the AEC Trustโ€”each committed to uplifting unproduced LGBTQ+ Southern voices in theatre, film, and television.

This surge in support arrives at a critical time, as arts and LGBTQ+ organizations face increasing threats and underfunding nationwide. The Del Shores Foundation continues to champion queer storytellers through its Writers Search, Writers Festival, and Finalist Play Reading Series, offering cash awards, production grants, and professional development opportunities.

The fourth annual Writers Search is currently accepting submissions for Best Play, Screenplay, and Short Film/Web Series through Thursday, October 31. With growing support and visibility, the foundation is expanding its reach and impactโ€”ensuring that Southern LGBTQ+ stories are not only heard, but celebrated. Donors and leadership emphasize the importance of preserving queer narratives and fostering artistic growth. As Foundation President Del Shores shared, โ€œBecause of this support, dreams come true and our vital LGBTQ+ stories are told.โ€
