October is the official start of “season” in Greater Palm Springs. This year, while trepidation is the watchword, there are signs that the Fall season will be robust. At very least, we will collectively have planned well. Now we wait and see who shows up to the party.
And party we will! On the calendar for this month is Modernism Week – October, The Center’s Center Stage gala, Palm Springs Leather Pride, the home opener for the Firebirds, and something I’m proud to have been a part of – bringing the IGLTA (International LGBTQ+ Travel Association) conference to Palm Springs.
We’ll also fit in the Casual Concours for Great Autos, Joshua Tree Music Festival, the new Equality Walk (replacing DAP’s Desert AIDS Walk), and ending the month with Halloween on Arenas.
We’ve been planning all summer for the season, but it still tends to sneak up on us. Makes my head spin just to think about it because we’re a part of most everything on the calendar. KGAY will be the soundtrack to it all!
For those of you who will be visiting, the Gay Desert Guide Visitor Map & Guide is available to help you plan your visit and entice you to Dine & Sip, Shop, visit our Attractions and experience Nightlife in the Desert.
We not only print 20,000 copies of the Fall/Pride edition, we also have an online version that you can peruse from your phone or laptop.
We’ll be relaunching the GayDesertGuide.LGBT website this month too, making it easier to navigate and plan your Palm Springs weeks and weekends. And that’s just October!
