HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

According to Wikipedia, "Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig, "the Day of the Festival of Patrick"), is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland."

Southern Baptist Sissies Come to Town

Opening this weekend. Religion clashing with sexuality.  Through April 9 at The Desert Rose Playhouse, performances are Fridays & Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 2 PM.

LA Times: "Daring. Heroic. No-holds-barred hilarious."

Chicago Tribune: "Distinctive and arresting. A funny and yet strangely moving treatment of goodhearted, wacky Texans suffering through an intolerant world."

The acclaimed play follows the journey of four gay boys in the Calvary Baptist Church of Dallas, TX. Storyteller Mark Lee Fuller tries to create a world of love and acceptance in the church and clubs of Dallas, while desperately trying to find a place to put his own pain and rage. The world Mark creates also includes two older barflies, Peanut and Odette, whose banter takes the audience from hysterical laughter to tragedy and tears.

With a theme of religion clashing with sexuality, the play opened to rave reviews in Los Angeles during its original run in 2000 and became the most awarded play of the year.

The play contains adult material and brief nudity.  Tickets are $35 for Friday and Saturday evening performances and $32 for Sunday matinees.  More Info
