Fun, Fur & Frolic! The International Bear Convergence (IBC) 2017

International Bear Convergence (IBC) is the premier event for Bears & admirers in Palm Springs, California, February 9-15, 2017. This desert oasis opens its arms and welcomes you to the hip Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs to thousands of frisky, furry bears, their friends & their fans. The four-day event will come to life with DJs, live entertainment and thousands of bears from around the globe. The last two years were hugely successful and we expect more of the same in 2017 with record-breaking attendance. 

During the day kick back like a rock star and enjoy themed pool parties with music provided by world renown DJ’s at the fabulous Hard Rock pool. Pop music icon Barry Manilow will present the Partners for Life Award honoring the legacy of his friend Elizabeth Taylor during the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards February 11, 2017. The award will be accepted by Miss Taylor’s grandchildren, Tarquin and Naomi Wilding.

Lance Bass will be the celebrity MC throughout the evening. Bass, an original member of NSYNC, is a singer, actor, author, and television producer. He has a long relationship with Palm Springs and is looking forward to welcoming attendees at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards.
Kirsten Vangsness will keep the energy high during the evening’s live auction which will feature several unique experiences. Vangsness stars as FBI Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia on the CBS drama series Criminal Minds.
The Pointer Sisters are the entertainment headliners at the gala, with La Bouche in the spotlight at the after party!

Humanitarian Barbara Keller who served as Steve Chase Co-Chair for seven years and continues to serve on the D.A.P. Board of Directors and Co-Chair of 100 Women annual giving program.

Eisenhower Medical Center’s President and Chief Executive Officer, G. Aubrey Serfling and its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Martin J. Massiello.

Funds raised at the gala will enable Desert AIDS Project’s dedicated team of medical and social service professionals to serve more than 3,600 individuals. Desert AIDS Project CEO, David Brinkman notes “This is a partnership. 26th Annual Winter Classic Softball Tournament

AIDS Assistance Program – Food Samaritans, in cooperation with the City of Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Gay Softball League, presents the 25th annual Palm Springs Winter Classic Softball Tournament. Eighty teams and hundreds of LGBT softball players will compete.  The public is invited to attend an opening reception Friday, February 10 from 7-10 pm at Hunter’s Nightclub.

Games will be played at Demuth Park (4365 E. Mesquite Ave, Palm Springs) and Big League Dreams Sports Park in Cathedral City.  Games will start at 8 a.m. both days with finals in all divisions played at Big League Dreams.  More Info
