Sordid Lives creator Del Shores new one-man show directed by Emerson Collins proves once again that he is not a writer, he’s a self-proclaimed thief!  In Six Characters In Search Of A Play, Shores is inspired by Pirandello’s classic play to bring you six characters inspired by his real-life encounters that haven’t quite made it into one of Shores’ plays, films or TV shows. In 90 minutes, the audience will hear the truth behind how he collected these eccentrics, then he will portray them in classic Shores’ monologue style.

Miss Richfield 1981 returns to Palm Springs with her brand new show, “2020 Vision—A Survival Guide For The New World”, an official Palm Springs Pride event.   The show features Miss Richfield 1981’s  unique take on audience participation along with new songs, new videos, and most importantly, a new message for our new world!   During these strange times, Miss R wants to provide a message of hope—or at least survival!

Cheyenne Jackson and Kate Clinton Headline Center Stage 2017

Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and actor Cheyenne Jackson will headline the 8th annual Center Stage gala, presented by Eisenhower Medical Center on Friday, October 27, 2018 at the Riviera Resort and Spa in Palm Springs, benefitting The LGBT Community Center of the Desert (The Center).

Fresh off his role on FX's American Horror Story, Cheyenne has had a wealth of roles on and off Broadway, including starring in The Performers, 8, Finian's Rainbow, Damn Yankees, Xanadu, Aida, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and more. Cheyenne has released several studio albums, his most recent, Renaissance, and has collaborated with the likes of Sia and Charlotte Sometimes. No stranger to sold-out shows in the Coachella Valley, Cheyenne has performed at both the McCallum Theatre and the Annenberg Theater.

Cheyenne will be joined by comedienne Kate Clinton, back by popular demand to host Center Stage for the fourth consecutive year. The evening will feature a silent auction, program, dinner, and after-party, all designed to advance The Center's mission of creating vibrant community. New this year, attendees will be able to take advantage of The Center's partnership with Lyft, Official Ridesharing Sponsor of Center Stage, and receive a 20% discount for rides to and from the event.

Park in Style…

Spa Resort Casino recently cut the ribbon on a beautiful new addition to downtown Palm Springs. The new parking structure is located at the corner of E. Amado Road and N. Calle Encilia.   Spa Resort Casino invites guests to roll up in style at its new state-of-the-art, 850-stall parking structure. Owned by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and operated by Spa Resort Casino, McCarthy Building Company of Newport Beach, Calif., was general contractor on the 12-month build, and the architects were Parking Design Associates of Los Angeles on the parking structure, Delawie on its exterior, and JCI Architecture on the updates to the casino interior. More than 550 construction workers were associated with the project.  

New Development Grand Openings

Here's what we know for sure, as revealed by Mayor Robert Moon at the Main Street Palm Springs Association meeting this morning… 

The Rowan Palm Springs is set to open November 8th, but a ticketed State of the City event is planned for September 8th.  The new Starbucks Reserve is opening November 1st (no word on whether the current Starbucks is staying in place).  Finally H&M will have a grand opening the week before Thanksgiving!  It's a whole new downtown!  Plans will be revealed soon for a public opening.
