We're all a bit surprised to learn that local drag star Pinkie Meringue Shimmer is hanging up her headdress.

In her own words, (or his, as Larry Edwards), Pinkie explains, "Hello all of you fabulous wonderful people out there. Well as most of you know, Pinkie has retired.  Yes the time has come, the time is right, for me to step down as Pinkie.  It has been an AMAZING ride over the past 13 years.  WOW how thankful I am for the opportunity to be Pinkie and grow with the community.  Palm Springs has always welcomed me with open arms. I have had so many opportunities to make a positive impact and for that I am thankful.

DiversityDHS invites you this Saturday to Dillion's Burgers and Beers to "'Drive a motorcycle and like to cruise, come on out!' Even if you don't ride come down and admire the beautiful bikes!"  DiversityDHS is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization engaged in planning the first ever Gay Pride event in Desert Hot Springs, CA – to be held at Cabot's Pueblo Museum.  

A nonprofit charitable organization in support of LGBT Pride, DiversityDHS "envisions a diverse community in Desert Hot Springs whereby persons of all ages, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and gender-identification embrace each other's differences under a unifying theme of love espousing everyone's dignity, self-esteem, and respect."

DiversityDHS serves to educate, celebrate, and promote the health and wellness of the LGBT community of Desert Hot Springs through outreach, events, and overall inclusion, while honoring and commemorating the history of the Gay Rights Movement.

This Hot August Nights fundraiser is being held in order to raise funds for the first PRIDE event in Desert Hot Springs. We need the communities support to get this off the ground.  Admission is $20.00 at the door includes burger and fries. More Info.

Save the Date to Audition for the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus

Leading into its 19th Season, The Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus (PSGMC) will be holding open call auditions Tuesday, August 29 at 7:00p.m. at the Mizell Senior Center, 480 South Sunrise Way in Palm Springs. This special evening of camaraderie will also be an opportunity to volunteer and get involved with one of the chorus' many committees. Interested singers can also attend open rehearsals on Tuesdays, August 15 and 22 at 7:00p.m. to get a feel of what it's like to perform with the chorus and meet the members.
