RuPaul is going to need to get a bigger trophy case!

During tonight’s televised ceremony for the 73rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards, the drag legend and the production team behind his beloved, eponymous reality competition, RuPaul’s Drag Race, took home the trophy for Outstanding Competition Program, beating out competitors The Amazing RaceThe VoiceTop Chef, and Nailed It! While this Emmy this Ru’s 11th trophy overall, this win is a special one, because it now makes Ru the most awarded person of color in Primetime Emmy history, beating out cinematographer Donald A. Morgan, who Ru tied with earlier this month at the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony. 

“Really, thank to all of our lovely children on our show from around the world,” Ru said when he, Michelle Visage, Gottmik, and Symone took the stage tonight to accept the award. “They are so gracious to tell their stories of courage and how to navigate this difficult life, even more difficult today. This is for you.”
