Walk of the Stars Palm Springs (formerly known as Palm Springs Walk of Stars, and founded by Barbara Foster Henderson & Gerhard Frenzel) began honoring Palm Springs Legends and Famous Friends of Palm Springs in 1992. Star One honoree was Earle Strebe who was honored with the Golden Palm Star at 128 S. Palm Canyon.
Earle Strebe exemplifies what we mean when we say Palm Springs Legend. Whether or not the name rings a bell today, the name had valued and important place in history – our history – and their contributions should be recognized as essential cogs in the fabulous Palm Springs timeline that surely will keep moving into the future as each new generation produces another Palm Springs Legend that will most certainly be adored by many and in kind our city will most certainly feel the love that legendary people give our city.
Walk of the Stars is a monument to that ongoing and cherished tradition that is special to Palm Springs. When you walk down Palm Canyon, Tahquitz Canyon, Museum Way, La Plaza Circle and others, you will pass over 431 stars. Residents, businesses, and visitors alike can all feel the sense of pride in what Palm Springs has to offer. Look down at the names on those stars because in their own special way, during their own lifetime, they helped shaped this great city of ours. Their star from the Walk of the Stars in an eternal testament to contribution. And we are very very proud of this…. then, now, and always.
