City of Palm Springs to align with State, County & CDC guidance
recommending vaccinated individuals wear face coverings indoors
Following an increase in local COVID-19 case rates, the City of Palm Springs would like to advise the community that as a precaution, the City will align with guidance recently given by the County of Riverside, California Department of Public Health, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that recommends vaccinated individuals wear face coverings in public indoor settings. The State of California still requires unvaccinated individuals to wear masks indoors.
The CDC changed its guidance on Tuesday, recommending face coverings for
everyone indoors in areas with “high” or “substantial” COVID-19 transmission,
which includes Riverside, Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties.
As the impact of the Delta variant increases transmissibility, Riverside County health officials continue to stress that getting vaccinated is the best protection against the virus and its variants.
