Palm Springs Art Museum is proud to present the 2017 Artists Council Exhibition, running Saturday, October 7 through Sunday, December 10 in the Museum’s Jorgensen Gallery and Marks Graphics Center. Now in its 48th year, this juried exhibition will showcase the works of more than 40 local artists – with 50 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Museum’s exhibitions, acquisitions, programs and operations. An exhibition catalog is available for purchase.
The public is invited to attend an awards program hosted by KESQ Chief Meteorologist Patrick Evans held in the Museum’s Annenberg Theater on Saturday, October 7 at 5:45 p.m., followed by a reception.
“The Artists Council Exhibition gives the community the chance to experience the work of outstanding local artists in the prestigious setting of the Palm Springs Art Museum,” said Artists Council Exhibition Chairman Mike McLain. “It is an honor for our artists to show here.”
Works included in the Artists Council exhibition are selected from over 300 submissions by a team of outstanding jurors, including:
- Internationally renowned installation and environmental artist Lita Albuquerque, whose hEARTH installation at the Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands Center & Gardens was part of the inaugural DESERT X exhibition.
- Art critic, educator and curator David Pagel, Chair of the Art Department at Claremont University.
- Rick Royale, owner of Royale Projects, a Los Angeles art gallery.
