Mayor Lisa Middleton will deliver the annual State of the City address on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the famed Plaza Theatre in downtown Palm Springs, one of the City’s most important historic landmarks and architectural gems.

The event, which also includes community awards, is hosted by the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce and will kick off at 6 p.m. with a video and update from Mayor Middleton and the City Council highlighting accomplishments and milestones in their districts over the past year. In addition, former Councilmember J.R. Roberts, Chairman of the Plaza Theatre Restoration Committee, along with Councilmember liaison Geoff Kors, will update the business community about ongoing fundraising efforts for the Plaza Theatre restoration.

Following the presentation, the Chamber of Commerce will present awards to four community members working to make a difference in the Palm Springs community. This year’s honorees are:

  • Linda Barrack, CEO of Martha’s Village and Kitchen, Community Leadership Award.
  • Greg Rodriguez, Government and Public Policy Advisor, Office of Riverside County
  • Supervisor Manuel Perez, Community Appreciation Award.
  • Scott White, CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs, Economic Development Award.
  • Geoff Kors, Palm Springs Councilmember and liaison to the Chamber of Commerce, PS I Love You Award.
