The Senior Farmer’s Market will take place the second and fourth Friday of each month from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at The Joslyn Center 73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert
The Joslyn Center, in collaboration with FIND Foodbank has expanded nutrition services to include a Senior Farmer’s Market on the second and fourth Friday of each month. This will supplement the already existing Penny’s Pantry Program that takes place on the first and third Friday of the month. Now, seniors will have access to fresh fruits and vegetables as well as nutritious food every Friday at The Joslyn Center.
This expansion has been made possible by the generous contributions to the End Senior Hunger campaign by many donors and foundations in our community. The Joslyn Center is committed to meeting the needs of seniors and older adults who are experiencing food insecurity, especially in these difficult economic times.
Please remember that the Farmer’s Market is “first come – first served” and we appreciate you bringing your own bag.
The Joslyn Center especially encourages Latino and other underserved communities to take advantage of this free food program. “As senior centers have long been viewed as a trusted community resource, we are excited to present this opportunity to our local Latino and senior neighbors,” said Jack Newby, executive director of The Joslyn Center.
