Strike for Equality

Join Human Rights Campaign Palm Springs for their popular Strike for Equality event, returning to Palm Springs Lanes on Sunday, September 15 from 11:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Gather your friends and get ready for a great day of bowling with members of the LGBTQ community and our allies. Out on the Mountain

Six Flags Magic Mountain’s annual Gay Night is Out on the Mountain, taking place Friday, September 13 from 6:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m. The entire park goes gay for the night, providing a safe and inclusive environment of fun for the LGBTQ community with rides, dance parties, and performers. Music by DJ Ray Rhodes and DJ SRO, with a special guest performance by Alaska, from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Get tickets



Films on the Great Lawn: Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Sunnylands Center & Gardens, reopening for a new season Sept. 11, revives the 1950s genre with the return of its outdoor movie series, Films on the Great Lawn, screening “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” on Friday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m.  Presented in partnership with the Palm Springs International Film Festival, the screenings on three consecutive Fridays in September are free to the public, gates open at 7:00 p.m. Future screenings: “The War of the Worlds” on Sept. 20 and “The Thing From Another World” on Sept. 27. Chill Bar Mr. Leather Contest

Chill Bar Palm Springs’ Mr. Leather Contest takes place this weekend. First up is a Meet and Greet event, where you can meet all the contestants on Friday, September 13 from 10:00–11:30 p.m. The main event happens the next night with the Mr. Leather Contest on Saturday, September 14 from 9:00–11:00 p.m. More info


Renee Olstead at The Purple Room

Renee Olstead performs at the Purple Room on Saturday, September 14. Known for her television and film appearances, including Unfriended, Still Standing, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager, her acting prowess is matched only by her vocal talent. Desert Theatreworks presents “The Savannah Sipping Society,” a delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy running from September 6–22 at the Old Town Playhouse in Indio. Confessions of a Mormon Boy in Residence at Hotel Zoso

Confessions of a Mormon Boy, the highly acclaimed one-man show, a true story starring Steven Fales, is now in residence at Hotel Zoso every Tuesday through January 28, 2020. Told with humor, song and the Book of Mormon, Confessions concerns a young gay man’s journey through excommunication from the Mormon church, divorce, male prostitution and drug abuse, as he struggles to reclaim himself, his children and his ‘Donny Osmond’ smile.
