The Big Screen takes center stage this weekend as one of the country’s preeminent LGBTQ+ film festivals happens. We applaud Cinema Diverse for finding their way to safely conducting the in person part of the festival. While filmmakers were discouraged from attending and the typical parties were placed on hold, the essence of the festival – the shared experience of seeing representations of our diversity – continues. I hope you’ll find a few hours to take in a film or two. There are also virtual passes so you can stream at home.
I’m emceeing the Aging Positively Reunion Project Saturday from Eisenhower which can be viewed virtually this year. Andy Bell from Erasure will be joining us for a lively conversation with Jeff Taylor.
And Sunnylands has reopened just as the temps start to get into the two digits from three on a regular basis. We’re monitoring the status of Fall events such as The Dinah and Palm Springs Pride. Organizers are keenly aware of health and safety concerns and are planning accordingly. When we know, we’ll update you!
