It’s almost time for Palm Springs Pride, and residents and businesses are invited to show their support for the LGBTQ community and decorate their storefront, home or apartment with pink and rainbow lights for the 2nd annual Light Up the Night contest presented by Alaska Airlines. Desert AIDS Walk 2021

Desert AIDS Walk Balloon Arch

Desert Care Network presents the annual Desert AIDS Walk to help fund the vital work of DAP Health, previously Desert AIDS Project, and takes place as an in-person event on Saturday, October 30 from 8:00–12:00 p.m. The walk begins at Ruth Hardy Park and follows a route through downtown Palm Springs. The family and pet-friendly event includes a Health and Wellness Village presented by Walgreens. More info

The big event on Halloween Night, Sunday, October 31 is Palm Springs Halloween on Arenas Road, from 4:00–10:00 p.m. Come dressed as your favorite super heroes, ghouls, goblins, carnival revelers, movie look-a-likes and drag queens and compete to win over $1,800 in prizes. The evening’s live entertainment features headliner Debby Holiday, singer of 16 Billboard Top 20 Dance Hits including her latest single “Waiting for a Lifetime,” plus performances by: Brian Justin Crum, DJ Zareen, Pulp Vixen, Probe 7, Marina Mac, Chi Energy, with MC Bella da Ball. Costume Contest registration is 6:30–7:45 p.m., with the on-stage contest beginning at 8:00 p.m. More info


Saturday Halloween Soirée at Boozehounds

Boozehounds Palm Springs will be throwing a private Halloween Soirée full of magic on Saturday, October 30. The ticketed event will be hosted under the stars on their Halloween-themed outdoor patio, with music by a guest DJ and activations by local artisans (Tarot card reader, photography, jewelry, floral and more). There will be two seatings: 7:00–8:30 p.m. and 9:00–10:30 p.m. with different packages featuring a multi-course dinner by Executive Chef Corey Baker. Boo2Bullying is bringing the Met Gala to the desert with its 3rd Annual Boo Ball on Saturday, October 30 from 5:30–10:00 p.m. at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Walk the Orange Carpet, enjoy the evening with exclusive music performances by Jamie Miller, Musical University Theater, Chris Bennett, and Kid Baron, with Emcee Bella da Ball and a contest with Best Costume prizes. Chili Cook Off and Car Show

Also at the Palm Springs Air Museum on Saturday: it’s a Halloween-Themed Chili Cook Off and Car Show, from 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. The chili recipes are those of the museum’s volunteers. And the show itself is sponsored by the Desert Classic Car Association. Museum admission that day includes the car show; chili tastings are $1. More info

The Coachella Valley Symphony presents a Halloween Music Spooktacular Concert at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater on Sunday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. Thrill and chill to an invigorating 70 minutes of movie music and classical favorites including: Ghostbusters, Spiderman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars – Throne Room, Bach – Toccata and Fugue in d minor, Phantom of the Opera, In the Hall of the Mountain King, and Symphony Fantastic – March to the Scaffold. Halloween Hullabaloo at the Palm Springs Cultural Center

The Palm Springs Cultural Center is offering a full day of Halloween fun with attractions for all ages, including Best of Retro Cartoon Halloween Specials (your favorites from the 80’s and 90’s) at 1:00 p.m., and a screening of the original Ghostbusters film at 1:30 p.m. with the Southland Ghostbusters live in person with complimentary goodie bags. Hocus Pocus screens at 5:00 p.m. hosted by the Sanderson Sisters live in person, with real magic wands for the kids. From 3:00–7:00 p.m. it’s the free Trunk or Treat event where costumed kiddoes will go from trunk to trunk collecting treats from owners who have decorated their vehicles.

The-Three-Michaels

For the grown-ups, the Jazzville Creepy Cocktail Party starts at 3:00 p.m., ahead of the Jazzville Halloween Show featuring The Jazz Cartel at 5:00 p.m. A Zombie Cocktail Party starts at 6:00 p.m., ahead of the Dirty Little Secrets Burlesque show “Shock Theatre Spooktacular” at 8:00 p.m. This wild and crazy Halloween variety show is not for the faint of heart. Also, Three Michaels Live features an ode to John Carpenter’s Halloween with the musical score, scares, and skits performed LIVE by three Michael Myers, at 8:00 p.m. with another appearance at 9:30 p.m. Tickets to Three Michaels include admission to the “Haddonfield Ball” from 9:00–11:00 p.m. with free Buzzbox cocktails in the upstairs lounge. Remember George Zander and Chris Zander on the sixth anniversary of the day they were attacked in Downtown Palm Springs.
