Gay Desert Guide Weekend: Oct 18–20, 2019

2,000 walkers and 100 volunteers will come together from across the Coachella Valley in a powerful demonstration of kindness and compassion at Desert AIDS Walk 2019 on Saturday, October 19. Funds raised make it possible for 10,000 of our neighbors and friends to have continued access to Desert AIDS Project’s holistic, integrated health and wellness programs; their doors are open to everyone, regardless of gender or HIV status. Equality California’s Palm Springs Equality Awards are Saturday, October 19 from 5:30–10:00 p.m. at The Riviera, and Gay Desert Guide is a proud media sponsor of this important annual recognition and fundraiser. Celebrate EQCA’s 20th Anniversary at one of the desert’s most stylish venues and honor the inspirational leaders and organizations whose selfless work helps create a world that is healthy, just and fully equal for all LGBTQ people. Margaret Cho at Outlandish Performance Series

Margaret Cho makes her Outlandish debut on Saturday, October 19 at 8:00 p.m. at the Palm Springs Cultural Center as part of the Outlandish Palm Springs performance series. Palm Springs City of Diversity Home Tour

The Organized Neighborhoods of Palm Springs (ONE-PS), present the self-guided City of Diversity Home Tour on Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. You’ll visit 6 vibrant homes in 6 very different neighborhoods. The homes were selected to present a variety of interior styles and accents from whimsical to classic midcentury. Casual Concours Car Show

The finest midcentury car show in the Coachella Valley, Casual Concours, takes place Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. at the Desert Princess Country Club. The show reflects the unique collector car culture of Palm Springs, with dominant displays of rarely seen luxury cars of the 1950s–80s and a focus on styling, color, luxury features, historical significance and showroom condition—in other words, midcentury glamour! Weekend Theatre

Desert Theatreworks presents Mamma Mia! The smash hit musical based on the music of ABBA from Friday, October 18 through Sunday November 3 at the Indio Performing Arts Center.
