Charles also visited the new Tac/Quila Mexican restaurant, which he describes as a “beautiful oasis” with “luscious food” that lives up to the sumptuous environment.


ShortFest is Here!

Celebrating its 25th year, the Palm Springs International ShortFest kicked off on Tuesday, June 18 and runs through Monday, June 24. This competitive film festival screens approximately 325 films from over 100 countries and offers a little something for everyone – from comedies to horror, documentaries, family films and everything in between! Madonna Bar – Madame X Launch

Ruthless! The Musical Opens

Desert Rose Playhouse presents Ruthless! The Musical, from June 21–July 14. The show, directed by Loren Freeman and starring Desert Rose Playhouse Artistic Producing Director Robbie Wayne, famously spoofs Broadway musicals from Gypsy to Mame as well as many iconic films including The Bad Seed and All About Eve. Premiering in 1992, the show is responsible for discovering young performers Britney Spears and Natalie Portman.Talented eight year old Tina Denmark, played by Lizzie Schmelling, will do anything to land the lead in her school musical. The Improvables Perform to Benefit the L-Fund

Join the fun-loving improv troupe The Improvables of the Desert for a spontaneous, fast-paced, un-scripted comedy performance on Sunday, June 23 at 7:00 p.m. at The Desert Rose Playhouse. The Improvables do short-form improv, also known as theater games, turning audience suggestions into little pieces of comedic gold created on the fly. This is a benefit show for the L-Fund. AJ Lambert Performs the Best of Sinatra’s Concept Albums.

AJ Lambert performs at The Purple Room on Saturday, June 22, bringing her own unique voice to interpretations of songs her grandfather Frank Sinatra sang on his famous concept albums. Hear songs rarely heard outside of the legendary capitol releases – sung by someone who has a specific and intimate insight into the man who shaped them into the classic saloon songs he loved so much, like One For My Baby, Blues In The Night, In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning, Stormy Weather, I’ll Never Smile Again and more. Remembering Stonewall June Mixer on Arenas Road

On Monday, June 24th, from 5:00–7:30 p.m., Arenas District welcomes the Desert Business Association and the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce for the 50th Anniversary Block Celebration commemorating the riots at the Stonewall Inn in New York’s Greenwich Village. The event will have two fun components: a Progressive Passport will be provided for attendees to get stamped at each of the Arenas District businesses, to be entered into a drawing for a number of prizes. A Stonewall Commemoration will take place at  7:00 p.m.; this brief program will remember what happened at Stonewall in 1969 with speakers and entertainment. More info


March with Palm Springs at World Pride in NYC

The World Pride Celebration takes place this year in New York City , the birthplace of the modern gay rights movement, honoring the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising that started it all. Palm Springs Pride will be there, marching in the NYC Pride March on Sunday, June 30 and you can march with the Palm Springs contingent!
