Today’s #ILoveGayPalmSprings podcast with Dr. Laura Rush didn’t paint a very rosy picture of the pandemic.  From a lack of contact tracing to FEMA being called in to assist at Eisenhower Medical Center, it’s no time to let down our collective guard.

I made the trip to Sonoma County, also a hot spot, for a getaway that was supposed to include the many events of Out in the Vineyard’s “Gay Wine Weekend.” All events are now virtual and I hope you’ll attend via Zoom or Facebook this weekend.

Speaking of virtual events, Shann Carr is heading up the Gay Desert Guide Fun & Games Dept. to help us stay entertained during the summer of our discontent.

Her events start Aug. 4 and are supplemented by those from our partner at The Men Event in New York which has events such as The Gay Dating Game, LGBTinsel Town Tour and Big Gay Trivia Party all in July.

What else has been canceled, is still on or has moved online?  Read below and stay up to date when you become an Oasis Insider and receive our weekly newsletter.

Brad Fuhr, your Gay Desert Guide.
