Palm Springs International Film Festival Continues

The Palm Springs International Film Festival continues daily through Monday, January 13, celebrating excellence in film from around the world. It is one of the largest film festivals in North America, welcoming over 135,000 attendees each year for its lineup of new and celebrated international features and documentaries. Produced by the Palm Springs International Film Society, the Festival offers 12 days of events and film screenings featuring over 200 films from 60+ countries, with screenings at venues in Palm Springs and Cathedral City. Clint Holmes at the Purple Room

Las Vegas legend Clint Holmes performs at The Purple Room on Friday, January 10, accompanied by musical director Christian Tamburr. The Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce has launched a brand-new iPhone app for Walk of the Stars Palm Springs. This multifunctional and interactive alternative to a printed map is an up-to-date resource for Walk of the Stars honorees that also features opt-in end user notifications for upcoming star dedications. The Walk of Stars app features biographical information, star address, honoree photo, and links to websites like IMDb and Wikipedia for all 437 stars honored to date. Book Launch: “The Day Before I Died”

On Saturday, January 11 at 9:30 a.m., meet the author and celebrate the launch of “The Day Before I Died”, an intensely personal memoir about overcoming the scars of war, disfigurement, emotional abuse, sexual orientation, and bullying, written by JF Whitaker. Meet and greet will be followed by a reading and book signing, at the LGBT Community Center of the Desert. More info

Snoop Dogg at The Show

Desert Theatreworks presents Beehive, The 60’s Musical from January 10–26. Relive the heyday of pop queens like Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin to glamorous girl groups like The Supremes and The Shirelles as Beehive pays tribute to a time on the charts when women artists were all the buzz. The Palm Canyon Theatre presents Camelot from January 17–February 9. An idealistic young King Arthur hopes to create a kingdom built on honor and dignity, embodied by his Knights of The Round Table. His ideals, however, are tested when his lovely queen, Guenevere, falls in love with the young Knight, Lancelot and the fate of the kingdom hangs in the balance. Palm Canyon Drive. Keisha is a popular performer in the Coachella Valley’s vibrant music scene for the last 11 years performing at all of the best spots including Wang’s in the Desert, the Purple Room, Chill Bar, AMP Sports Lounge, on the festival stage at Palm Springs Pride and that’s just naming a few. Ray Parker Jr. at Grooves at the Westin – Jan. 18
