We look back on the 80's–or rather the “I the 80's” dance party, and look ahead to The Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala and Modernism Week Preview–both of which have just made tickets available for sale. “Outlandish” Returns to Palm Springs with 6 Live Performances!
Outlandish, a live performance series that debuted in Palm Springs last year, returns to the Palm Springs Cultural Center this fall with an expanded lineup. Produced by Logo TV Founder Matt Farber and the Palm Springs Cultural Center, the series will feature six iconic acts known in the LGBT community and beyond, including: John Waters, Randy Rainbow, Miss Richfield 1981, Pam Ann, Bob The Drag Queen, and San Francisco's famed gay male revue, Baloney. The series begins with John Waters on Friday, October 26 and concludes with Baloney on Saturday, December 8. More info
Craft Beer Weekend is Here!
Attention beer lovers: The seventh-annual Craft Beer Weekend takes place this weekend, Saturday and Sunday August 4–5 at the Ace Hotel and Swim Club. Taste the day away with over four dozen breweries, beer tastings, small bites, live entertainment and tales of the trade regaled by the brewers themselves. Saturday, August 4 at 8:00 p.m. Richard “Cheech” Marin and Tommy Chong helped define an era with their hilariously irreverent satirical counter-culture no-holds-barred comedy routines. Their phenomenal success includes nine comedy albums and eight films. The 2018 Cheech & Chong tour is a follow up to the hugely successful reunion tour: Cheech & Chong Light Up America Tour in 2008, following a 25-year hiatus. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, their debut movie “Up In Smoke” in 1978 defined a new genre of movies—the stoner comedy. Film Awards Gala Tickets Went On Sale Aug 1
Seats and tables for the Palm Springs International Film Festival's signature showpiece event, the 2019Film Awards Gala, are available for purchase beginning August 1, 2018. This evening of high style, glitz, and fellowship, complete with red carpet, A-list celebrities, and Palm Springs community leaders will take place on January 3, 2019. The evening raises more than $1 million in funding for the Palm Springs International Film Society every year. More info
