Outdoor Concerts Under the Palm Trees
While we are still in the prime of our ideal weather, get out there and enjoy some outdoor music! On Saturday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m., the Spa Resort Casino presents Gin Blossoms at the final Concerts Under the Palms of the season in downtown Palm Springs. Nothing says 90's like the Gin Blossoms with their fusion of pop, melodic rock, folk and country elements with songs including "Hey Jealousy," "Follow You Down," and "Found Out About You." – Get tickets
Then for something quite different, The 20th anniversary edition of the ever-popular Opera in the Park takes place on Sunday, April 8th,from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., presented by the Palm Springs Opera Guild at Sunrise Park in Palm Springs. It's a FREE community event, so come listen to a live professional orchestra accompanying eight amazing opera singers, and enjoy an afternoon of music in a pastoral setting. AmDocs at the Palm Springs Cultural Center
The 2018 American Documentary Film Festival (AmDocs) kicks off this weekend with an Opening Night Film and Reception featuring George Takei on Friday, April 6 at 5:30 p.m. and runs through Saturday, April 14 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. On Sunday, April 8 at 4:30 p.m., Program 25 features a series of openly- and not-so-openly gay short stories: Crook – "Lavender", USA, 8min. / Ballroom Boys, UK, 14min. / After Party, CROATIA, 22min. / On My Way Out: The Secret Life of Nani and Popi, USA, 40min. Looking ahead to a future film festival, also at the Palm Springs Cultural Center: the Palm Springs Cannabis Film Festival and Summit will take place April 19 – 22 and will include a variety of films and educational panel discussions on everything from the impact of cannabis on pets and children to how regulations affect the market.
