Coachella Fest Weekend 2

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is in full swing, having completed the first weekend and now moving into weekend two: Friday, April 20–Sunday, April 22 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. All anyone can talk about after the first weekend has been headliner Beyoncé, doing what she does best: killing it and reinventing the Coachella stage in her own image like the musical goddess that she is. Her performance is being hailed as a "cultural moment." Beyond Beyoncé, however, there is a lot going on at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. If you are among the 250,000 expected to attend this year, or if you are just curious to know more about, it we've curated some helpful bookmarks on Coachella (and the country music festival Stagecoach which follows next weekend) for you here: Coachella and Stagecoach Bookmarks

The group #GaysofCoachella is connecting LGBTQ Coachella Festival goers, and they have designated a meeting place where friendly spirits can congregate in the midst of the sprawling festival grounds. Connect with them here:

This weekend the Palm Springs Cultural Center: the Palm Springs Cannabis Film Festival and Summit runs from Thursday, April 19–Sunday, April 22 and will include a variety of films and educational panel discussions on everything from the impact of cannabis on pets and children to how regulations affect the market. The event is a platform for various businesses, public agencies, artists, vendors, and the general public to gather together to learn, network and effect positive change. More info

You may have read the article on our site about the exciting new location for Palm Springs Pride near the Palm Springs Art Museum, moving it off Palm Canyon Drive.  And while it does split Pride into two areas – Arenas Road's stage will remain intact – the cost savings to Palm Springs Pride was significant enough to warrant the move for the non-profit.
