Coachella Weekend 1

The first of two weekends of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is Friday, April 12 through Sunday, April 14, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. Featured artists include Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, and Ariana Grande. There’s only a waitlist for Weekend 1 passes but a limited number of passes have been made available for Weekend 2, in light of the announcement of Kanye West‘s Sunday Service, scheduled for Easter Morning, Sunday, April 21. Palm Springs Fashion Week

The first ever Palm Springs Fashion Week by Fashionation debuts this Thursday, April 11 through Saturday, April 13 at the iconic Riviera Hotel in the design district of Palm Springs. Highlighting a series of runway shows and lifestyle events, PSFW is expected to become a central hub for music, entertainment, and fashion industry professionals as well as media and celebrities who gather here for the year’s major brand launches and initiatives. Unplug and Play with Brad Berger and Barbara Keller

Poochella Fest

Poochella Fest takes place on Saturday, April 13, from 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. at DeMuth park,  benefiting the Palm Springs Animal Shelter along with the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Springs & Cathedral City. This dog adoption and pet food drive will highlight the need for fostering and adopting homeless animals, with a pet fashion show, silent auction, raffle prizes, Easter egg hunt, live entertainment, food & drink. Confessions of a Mormon Boy

The Desert Rose Playhouse presents Confessions of a Mormon Boy, a true story starring Steven Fales, from April 12–14. Told with humor, song and the Book of Mormon, Confessions concerns a young gay man’s journey through excommunication from the Mormon church, divorce, male prostitution and drug abuse, as he struggles to reclaim himself, his children and his ‘Donny Osmond’ smile. Maytag Virgin

Dezart Performs presents Maytag Virgin, a southern love story by Audrey Cefaly, from April 5–14. Alabama high-school teacher Lizzy Nash is on a leave of absence after the sudden death of her husband when a mysterious new neighbor moves in next door. Jack and Lizzy, both hiding a world of secrets and pain, excite and confound each other. Maytag Virgin explores the ideas of moving forward and self-enlightenment, and the bridge between the two.
