DBA Networking Mixer at CVRep

Join the Desert Business Association (DBA) on Monday, September 23 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. as they return to their member Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre (CVRep) at their new home in Cathedral City (the former IMAX theatre). Cat City Drag Race Continues at Runway, The Roost

Help the Cathedral City Gay Bars find the “Royal Highness of Cat City” during the Cathedral City Drag Race, running through October 7. Nine contestants will be scored by local celebrity judges on originality, themed outfit, personality, and performance. With weekly prizes and audience favorites, the contestant with the most points at the finish line wins the title! Hosted by Anita Treadmill with music by DJ Galaxy from KGAY 106.5. – The next location will be Runway on Monday, September 23 from 6:00–9:00 p.m., and moving next week to The Roost on Monday, September 30, from 6:00–9:00 p.m.  More info

 


Special Preview Screening of the New “Judy” Film

Join Michael Holmes as Judy Garland for a special preview screening of the new movie Judy starring Renee Zellweger on Thursday, September 26 at the Mary Pickford Theatres in Cathedral City. Sponsored by KGAY and Gay Desert Guide with proceeds benefiting Qchella Media, (the non-profit arm of KGAY radio). 2019 Palm Springs Pride Honors Awards

The Greater Palm Springs Pride 2019 Pride Honors Awards ceremony is Tuesday, September 24 at the Hilton Palm Springs. Honorees include Lauren N. Nile, Ellen Wolf, Jennifer Jungwirth, Joys Oldam, Ron Oden, and Tommi Rose, who will be recognized for their efforts in raising awareness and furthering the causes of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and their allies. Jazzville Presents VDE Quartet at Wang’s

Jazzville presents the VDE Quartet featuring legendary sax player Kim Richmond on Wednesday, September 25 from 7:00–9:30 p.m. at Wang’s in the Desert. Kevin van den Elzen is a young, deadly jazz drummer and band leader originally from the Netherlands. Paired with Kim Richmond on sax, this will be a memorable nite of straight-ahead jazz and swing grooves. Palm Springs Women’s Week is intended to bring women from around the country to the Coachella Valley to participate in a week of events designed to celebrate Lesbian culture and elevate the status of women. It will cast a bright light on talented local women and explore the issues and attitudes that define women’s experiences everywhere. Palm Desert Concerts in the Park Fall Series – Thursdays in October

Residents and visitors alike flock to the Palm Desert Civic Center Park every Thursday evening in October for the City’s free Concerts in the Park. Held on the terraced lawn of the Civic Center Park Amphitheater, music lovers can look forward to diverse musical offerings that may range from reggae to R&B, and from country to indie. The lineup includes:

Equality California’s Palm Springs Equality Awards take place this year on Saturday, October 19 at The Riviera. Celebrate EQCA’s 20th Anniversary at one of the desert’s most stylish venues and honor the inspirational leaders and organizations whose selfless work helps create a world that is healthy, just and fully equal for all LGBTQ people. This year Harold Matzner is being honored with the Humanitarian Award  and Alexis Ortega is being honored with the Community Leadership Award. The Hon. Geoff Kors, the Hon.
