Aging Positively Conference

On Tuesday, September 18 from 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.Aging Positively, the 3rd annual Coachella Valley conference aimed at providing practical information as well as inspiration for those aging with HIV, will explore housing, sexual health and dating, and employment strategies. And this year, The Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) co-founder Dr. Michael Gottlieb will provide the keynote address. Gay Desert Guide's Brad Fuhr will serve as moderator. Cinema Diverse Starts Thursday

Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival, returns for its eleventh season, ThursdaySeptember 20–Sunday, September 23 in the Historic Camelot Theatres at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. Opening night features the film The Long Road to Freedom: The Advocate Celebrates 50 Years. This year the festival also returns a week later to the Mary Pickford Theatre in Cathedral City on September 28 & 29 for a Bonus Weekend of screenings. More info

The Roost is Opening in Cathedral City!

Cathedral City's newest gay bar, The Roost, is opening this Thursday, September 20 near the Mary Pickford Theater in the Cathedral City Town Center. Big Bear Pride This Friday

On Friday, September 21 at Bear Valley Farms, the first annual Big Bear Pride Monster Mash will start at 7:00 p.m. and feature a Haunted Gay Ride, Slaughterhouse, Queen Scream Contest, Hay Romp, Street Taco and Beverage Bar, live entertainment by DJ OBSCR and more. Classical Palm Springs presents Fei-Fei & Nicholas Kontaxis

Celebrity Doodles presents a celebration of American Idols on Saturday, November 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Zelda's Nightclub during Greater Palm Springs Pride weekend. The event will star American Idol Top Ten Finalist Ada Vox with special guests Top Finalists David Hernandez and Effie Passerro. A portion of the proceeds will benefit AAP – Food Samaritans.
