Cookies, Cocktails, and Crazy Sweaters at The Roost – Monday, Nov 25

Fresh on the high heels of the very popular Cat City Drag Race, a new contest is taking place at six bars in Cathedral City: Cookies, Cocktails and Ugly Sweaters will feature an “Ugliest Sweater Contest” with celebrity and audience judges, with prizes each week leading up to a Golden Pass prize valued at $600. The evening is hosted by Cat City Drag Race Winner Angelique VaGorgeous, with music by DJ Galaxy. Outbook Speaker Event: Trebor Healey

Outbook presents Lambda Literary award winner Trebor Healey on Wednesday, November 27 from 6:00–8:30 p.m. in the VIP Lounge at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. Healy will give a special reading from his latest novel fresh off the shelves: “Falling,” wherein characters lose their way, figuratively and literally, and confront the profound displacement of modern life. Everyday Heroes

Desert AIDS Project presents Everyday Heroes on Sunday, December 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. The annual event, now in its sixth year, shines a spotlight on local individuals who inspire. This year’s honorees include Molly Bondhus and Wil Stiles, Brett Klein, Fiona Foyston, and John Bingle Thompson. The event will also honor the humanitarian legacy of Barbara Keller by introducing a Community Action Award bearing her name. The award will be presented to Bondhus and Stiles, and will honor a different individual’s legacy in the years that follow. Broadway star Davis Gaines will perform live during the show. Get tickets


26th Annual Palm Springs Open Tennis Tournament

The Desert Tennis Association presents the Palm Springs Open Tennis Tournament from Friday, November 29 through Sunday, December 1 at the Mission Hills Country Club, Desert Princess, Monterey Country Club, and Sunrise Country Club. “The King and I” Opens at Palm Canyon Theatre

Modern Men: The Gift of Love

On Sunday, December 1, at 3:00 p.m. Modern Men, Coachella Valley’s Men’s Chorus, will present a special preview of their December concert “The Gift of Love” featuring some of the beautiful music that will be performed at the Palm Springs Cultural Center from Dec 6–8.
