On the Mark celebrates their anniversary, The Roost cuts a ribbon, Runway will host a mixer, and the Transgender Day of Remembrance is recognized in Palm Springs. Ribbon Cutting at The Roost
The Roost Lounge has been open now for awhile as one of Cathedral City's newest LGBT bars, and it's time to make it official and celebrate with a ribbon cutting at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19! More info
The Roost is also starting a new regular event: Showtunes T-Dance, every Sunday from 4:00–9:00 p.m.! DJ Mr. D (Joe from Streetbar) will play a mix of showtunes and retro, and regular happy hour (noon to 7:00 p.m.) will stay the same. More info

Desert Stonewall Democrats November Meeting
Come share your joy or disappointment with the results of the recent mid-term election at the Desert Stonewall Democrats November Meeting on Monday, November 19 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Mizell Senior Center. (Note that this meeting is on Monday instead of the usual Tuesday, due to the Transgender Day of Remembrance). This meeting will focus on celebrating those candidates and ballot initiatives we endorsed, while cautiously examining the ones we didn't. More info
Transgender Day of Remembrance 2018
The Transgender Community Coalition presents Transgender Day of Remembrance Palm Springs 2018 on Tuesday, November 20, from 3:00–8:00 p.m. at Palm Springs City Hall. Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil (TDoR) is held annually on November 20th to bring needed education to Transgender, Intersex, Gender Non-Conforming and Non-Binary inequality and violence. TDoR vigil begins at 5:00 PM with guest speakers from our local Transgender leaders and special guest Laith Ashley from the hit show Strut. Educational Resource Fair from 3 to 8 PM at the Palm Springs City Hall. More info
On the eve of TDoR, Monday, November 19 at 6:00 p.m., The Transgender Health and Wellness Center presents An Evening with Laith Ashley at a private residence to be given upon RSVP. Laith is a singer, songwriter, dancer, actor and model who starred in a high-profile ad campaign with Barneys New York in 2014, starred on Oxygen Network's Strut in 2016, and continues to advocate on behalf of the transgender community. She is most associated with the Rat Pack and the Las Vegas Strip, where she was a regular performer with Freddie Bell and the Bellboys in the 1950s and 1960s. Everyday Heroes Honored
On Friday, November 30 from 5:30–10:00 p.m. at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, Desert AIDS Project honors local Everyday Heroes who've made an impact in our community. The annual event, now in its fifth year, features an outdoor reception, awards presentations, live entertainment and an after-party. Traditionally held on December 1, World AIDS Day, this year’s event will be held a day prior. 2018 honorees include Jeffrey Ewell, Willie Rhine, Edie Groesbeck & Rosanne Kumins, as well as the 2018 AIDS/Lifecycle Palm Springs Participants. Men of the Desert Fashion Show

Men in Tights – A Holiday Spectacular
Palm Springs Gay Men’s Chorus launches their 20th Anniversary Season with “Men in Tights – A Holiday Spectacular.” from Friday, December 14 through Sunday December 16 at the Palm Springs Art Museum Annenberg Theater. In the first act, the chorus will present songs and dances to transport you to the Renaissance when knights were bold. “Christmas in the Cloisters,” Boar’s Head Carol,” “Sing We Now of Christmas” and “Gloucestershire Wassail” music from the time of Camelot will have you experiencing holidays with a king and his court. After intermission you will step into the modern world and celebrate “A Long Christmas Dinner”, “Ring-A Ling-A Disco”, Stomp The Halls” and enjoy a country western “Dreydl, Dreydl.
