Joint Bowling Mixer with Desert Business Association
The Desert Business Association joins the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce in hosting a regional Joint Bowling Mixer on Thursday, July 25 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Palm Springs Lanes. Attendees are encouraged to bring plenty of business cards for networking. GCVCC Regional Mixers draw Chamber members and potential members from across the Coachella Valley, regularly hosting more than a hundred professionals from a variety of industries. The South Palm Springs Fire Station is looking spiffy! On Tuesday, July 23 from 9:00–10:00 a.m., join the City Council, Palm Springs Fire Department, PS Chamber, Measure J Commission and the Twin Palms Neighborhood Organization at the grand opening ribbon-cutting for newly remodeled Fire Station No. 4 in South Palm Springs, brought to you in part by your Measure J tax dollars. In addition, the Twin Palms Neighborhood Organization will present a $1,500 check to PSFD for a new built-in barbeque. Refreshments will be on hand and everyone is invited. More info

Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival is eleven days of not to be missed world-class films, panels, and parties, from July 18–28 at various locations around L.A. Each summer the festival screens more than 150 feature and short films to an audience more than 40,000 people, it’s the oldest film festival in Los Angeles and is considered the preeminent LGBTQ film festival in the world. Palm Springs Art Museum Summer Film Series
On Thursday, July 25 the Palm Springs Art Museum and the Annenberg Theater present the next film in the FREE Summer Film Series: “Shampoo” (1975), a blistering satire of presidential and sexual politics directed by Hal Ashby and starring Warren Beatty and Goldie Hawn. The film series, themed as “Summer of ’69” celebrates the 50 years since the end of the 60’s with films reflecting the climate of the time. Screenings continue every two weeks through July and August with “Medium Cool,” “The Rain People,” and “Zabriskie Point.” Specialty cocktails created specifically for each film will be available in Persimmon Bistro 4:00–6:00 p.m. More info
