AsiaSF Auditions

The iconic San Francisco Cabaret AsiaSF is opening a new location in Palm Springs and they need your talent and grace! They are looking for transgender women and men who are interested in performing as well as serving. Auditions take place Monday, July 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the Desert Rose Playhouse. More info

 


Ruthless! The Musical – Extended Run

Due to overwhelming sold out performances and rave reviews, the Desert Rose Playhouse has added two extended-run performances of Ruthless! The Musical, on Thursday, July 18 at 7:00 p.m. and Friday, July 19 at 8:00 p.m. Special guest star from the original Los Angeles production, Mr. Loren Freeman, will return to the Ruthless! stage playing Lita Encore. Palm Springs City Council Candidate Forum

Come hear hear all the ideas and platforms put forward for the future of Palm Springs by an incredibly talented group of Democratic candidates at the Palm Springs City Council Candidate Forum on Tuesday, July 16 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Mizell Senior Center. All of the Democratic Candidates that have filled out a PAC questionnaire for Palm Springs City Council District 1, 2 and 3 have been invited to speak to the members of the Desert Stonewall Democrats. Members can then vote their choice for endorsement by the club. More info



Hollywood Signature Series: Marilyn Monroe

Join the Palm Springs Cultural Center this summer for their Hollywood Signature Classics Film Series featuring the works of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. Screenings are Wednesdays @ 7:00 p.m. at the Camelot Theatres in the Palm Springs Cultural Center. Titles include this week’s Gentleman Prefer Blondes (July 17), How to Marry a Millionaire (July 24), Some Like it Hot (July 31), Seven Year Itch (Aug 7), and more! Jazzville: Rumproller Organ Trio

Desert Winds Freedom Band Fundraiser at Pinot’s Palette

On Thursday, July 18 at 6:00 p.m., come to Pinot’s Palette for a fundraiser and social for friends, patrons, and band members of the Desert Winds Freedom Band. Pinot’s Palette is an art studio where in two hours you’ll get to paint and take home your own copy of the art piece entitled “Merlot Melodies” (pictured here) with step-by-step expert instruction from one of their artists.  No previous painting experience is necessary. Palm Springs Farmers’ Market is Indoors for Summer

The Palm Springs Certified Farmers’ Market takes it indoors to the Palm Springs Pavilion at 401 S. Pavilion Way and is proud to host a live summer concert series featuring youth performers of the Coachella Valley on the Pavilion Stage during the Market hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival is eleven days of not to be missed world-class films, panels, and parties, from July 18–28 at various locations around L.A. Each summer the festival screens more than 150 feature and short films to an audience more than 40,000 people, it’s the oldest film festival in Los Angeles and is considered the preeminent LGBTQ film festival in the world. “Call Me Brother” – California Theatrical Premiere

On Saturday, July 20, at 5:00 p.m., The Palm Springs Cultural Center is hosting the California theatrical premiere of Call Me Brother, a coming-of-age romantic comedy about a brother and sister in their late teens who are reunited after years of separation only to discover intimate feelings they struggle to confront. Between immature friends and dysfunctional parents, they find comfort in each other over a wistful and awkward summer weekend.
