Modernism Week Continues

The 15th year of Modernism Week’s signature festival is underway: Thursday, February 13–Sunday, February 23 and highlights midcentury modern architecture, art, interior and landscape design, and vintage culture. The 11-day festival will feature more than 350 events including the Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale, tours of iconic homes in more than 30 neighborhoods, and the popular Signature Home Tour on both weekends. Also offered are architectural walking, biking and double-decker bus tours, tours of the historic Annenberg Estate at Sunnylands, a classic car show, garden tours, nightly parties, and a special series of compelling and informative talks. CAMP is the Modernism Week Central Hub

Modernism Week’s CAMP (“Community And Meeting Place”) is located uptown this year at 575 N. Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs (just north of the Corridor shops/KOFFI). CAMP includes an information desk, a box office, a café and bar by Cheeky’s, a shop by Modernism Week’s merchandise and branding partner Destination PSP, a theater and many interactive sponsor booths. Entrance into CAMP is free and open to the public daily during Modernism Week from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. CAMP is also the ‘terminal’ for departures and returns for Modernism Week’s Premier Double Decker Architectural Bus Tours. Grand Central Presents “A Nod to Modernism 2020”

Visit Grand Central now through February 29 and enjoy stunning art installations and delicious dining as they present A Nod to Modernism 2020. Take a walk through the gallery at Grand Central Palm Springs and discover local artists with mid-century modern flair. The artists in residence consist of Gary PetersonGeorgeanne Papac, Mitchel Zwick, Michael Owen and Joseph Lucenter. Architecture & Design Film Series

Modernism Week will once again offer a robust series of films relating to architecture and design: in addition to six films (including a World Premiere), Modernism Week has again partnered with the American Documentary Film Festival (AmDocs) to offer an Architecture, Design, and Art Film Series. Joe Montana at Rancho Mirage Speaker Series

The Rancho Mirage Speaker Series commission brings you “Legends of Sports” for their new series: Tuesday, February at 7:00 p.m. when Joe Montana shares his stories, both personal and professional, at the Rancho Mirage Public Library. It’s the year 2000 in Reading, Pennsylvania and a group of friends go to work at the steel mill and then decompress at the bar like they’ve been doing for over 20 years.
