Cookies, Cocktails, and Crazy Sweaters at Runway

The Cookies, Cocktails and Ugly Sweaters competition takes place at Runway Bar & Restaurant on Monday, December 16 at 6:00 p.m. Fresh on the high heels of the very popular Cat City Drag Race, this new contest is taking place at six bars in Cathedral City and features an “Ugliest Sweater Contest” with celebrity and audience judges. Prizes each week lead up to a Golden Pass prize valued at $600. Palm Springs Councilmember Lisa Middleton and SAGE are co-hosting a community symposium on LGBT aging at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Thursday, December 19 from 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. This free-to-attend symposium will bring together local, state, and national experts to discuss topics such as HIV and aging, culturally competent healthcare, social isolation, and policies that directly impact LGBT older people. Walk of the Stars Honors Jon Schroeder

Join the City of Palm Springs and Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce on Friday, December 20 from 2:00–3:00 p.m. as they honor local kid turned Hollywood writer and producer, Emmy-winner, Jon Schroeder, with the 436th star on Walk of the Stars Palm Springs.  Born and raised here in Palm Springs, Jon Schroeder went to Hollywood to work with Sarah Silverman and Tig Notaro on the movie Susan 313. The working partnership with Silverman continued with Comedy Central’s the Sarah Silverman Program. Runway is presenting two different Holiday Dinner Shows this year: Make your choice for a musical and comedic night of adult humor at the “Naughty” show or enjoy an evening of holiday classics on the “Nice” night! Palm Canyon Theatre presents the richly textured musical classic “The King and I” running through Sunday, December 22.
