Brad Fuhr CaricatureI’m over the moon happy to announce that I am purchasing KGAY 106.5 Palm Springs and operating it as a part of Gay Desert Guide, the media company I founded over eight years ago!
Radio has been in my blood since age 15, when I started at my hometown radio station running the Sunday morning religious programs.  I learned how to read the news and be a DJ after those big booming voices I heard coming out of my AM radio from all over the country.
What’s most exciting is that this is the station I helped found in 2018, and I’m now able to come back and operate it as a California Benefit Corporation. That means we’ll operate in the public interest over profit.  So the great things we’ve been able to do with Gay Desert Guide will now be amplified with KGAY AM 1270 and 106.5 FM.
My long-time radio friends, John Taylor and Chris Shebel, bookend morning and afternoon drive.  DJ Galaxy and DJ Eric Ornelas provide the Retro Lunch, and we’ll add more diverse voices in the coming months.
To our current advertisers, business partners and worldwide audience:  We take seriously our role in raising up our community, and providing entertainment, information and thought leadership.  Along the way, we’re going to have FUN and promote the Greater Palm Springs area as a welcoming place for residents and visitors alike.
Now, on to the week at hand….
