Event Details

Joshua Tree National Park Association presents “The Joshua Tree” : An Irreplaceable Icon of California’s Desert that must be Protected on Saturday, September 16, 2023.

This will be a group show featuring Southern California artist’s interpretation of our beloved endangered Joshua Tree. The show will feature photography, ceramics, paintings, textile art and more. The show tackles the potential disappearance of Joshua Trees from Southern California by the end of the century. Prolonged droughts are expected to be more frequent and intense over the coming decades, shrinking the species’ range and leading to more tree deaths. Higher elevations, where some Joshua trees might survive increasing temperatures and drying conditions, are at risk of fire because of invasive nonnative grasses.

Proceeds from the show will directly benefit the protection and preservation efforts of Joshua Tree National Park.
