Spring 20th Anniversary Concert - "Infinite Hope"

In celebrating the Desert Winds 20th anniversary, we celebrate the exciting growth of the band, our audiences, and our sponsors. The innumerable hours of dedication by our members and volunteers have not only helped the band grow through the end of 2019, but also survive the pandemic. Through member’s involvement with zoom, video recordings, Facebook concerts, our new website design that has brought us new members, and the unwavering financial support of our donors, we would not have been able to make it twenty years. It also gives us hope and drive for the next twenty.
 
Therefore, the music will be very celebratory!  Our guest clinician this year is Brian Balmages. Mr. Balmages is an award-winning composer, conductor, producer, and performer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from James Madison University and a master’s degree from the University of Miami in Florida. His compositions have been performed worldwide at the state, national and international level. We will be performing his piece “Infinite Hope”. The band will also be premiering a newly commissioned work by composer favorite Rossano Galante called “The Ascent from Darkness”. Leonard Bernstein’s exciting “Overture from Candide” among other band favorites will round out the concert

The City of Palm Springs also requires audience members to wear masks during the performance.
