Richard M. Milanovich Legacy Hike 2023

Join us on Saturday, March 11, 2023 for the Richard M. Milanovich Legacy Hike and 5K Run.

The Hike

• 7:15, 8:00 or 9:00 AM
• Moderate
• 3.1 Miles
• Up to 1.5 hours
• 200 feet elevation gain

Registration deadline is March 9, 2023

6:45 am shuttles will take hikers from the parking area to the designated hike start location. Hikes will be limited to groups of 30 hikers. Hikers will be assigned to Trail Guides for their chosen hikes on a first-come, first-served basis. Departure times for hikes will be staggered so participants will complete hikes and meet in the celebration area as close to 10 am as possible. No event day registration. Tickets must be purchased by March 9, 2023.

The 5k Run starts at 8:30 am sharp

• 45 minutes to 1 hour
• 200 feet elevation gain
• Registration deadline is March 9, 2023

Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior. Check in will be alphabetical by name. If you are planning on walking back down the hill to your car, stay to one side of the road as shuttle buses will be coming up and down constantly. No event day registration for the 5K.

The Richard M. Milanovich Fellowship was created in 2015. In 2021, UCLA Native Nations Law & Policy Center and the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians formed a partnership to prepare the next generation of leaders in Indian Country and to honor and preserve the legacy of service and leadership of the late Chairman Richard M. Milanovich.

Keep your animals at home. Animals will be turned away at the parking area and are not allowed to stay in vehicles.

Parking is located at the intersection of South Palm Canyon Drive and Acanto Drive. Please carpool. Parking is limited. No spectator parking will be allowed at the top of the Trading Post. No exceptions! Shuttle buses will be shuttling participants from the top of the Trading Post back to the parking lot from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon, or choose to walk down after 12:00 noon. Click here for a map of parking lot.
