Rancho Mirage Speaker Series - Legends of Sports

The City of Rancho Mirage and Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa have partnered to present the Rancho Mirage Speaker Series - Legends of Sports as it moves to The Show at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage. in 2023.

Moderated by Hockey Night in Canada personality Christine Simpson, the series kicks off with four-time Stanley Cup champion and hockey legend Wayne “The Great One” Gretzky.

On Monday January 23rd, “the great one” Wayne Gretzky takes the stage. This hockey hall of famer is the NHL’s all-time leading point scorer, has four Stanley cup championships and is widely considered the best to play the game.

In anticipation of the December 14 opening of the new $300+ million Acrisure Arena in Greater Palm Springs, home of the Coachella Valley Firebirds’ (@Firebirds), the proud affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Seattle Kraken (@SeattleKraken), the first 1,000 ticket holders who purchase a series ticket to the Speaker Series will gain free entrance into the Firebirds vs. San Diego Gulls game on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

On Tuesday, February 21 we welcome Emmitt Smith — the NFL’s all-time leading rusher. The former Dallas Cowboy is a three-time Super Bowl champion and holds the record for career rushing touchdowns. After retiring from football, Smith successfully transitioned to the dance floor – winning Dancing with the Stars’ mirror ball trophy.

On Tuesday, March 21 boxing hall of famer Sugar Ray Leonard hits the stage. An Olympic gold medalist, Leonard won championship titles in five weight divisions. Considered one of the greatest pound-for-pound boxers of all time, Leonard is now a best-selling author.
