Palm Springs International Dance Festival

The 7th Annual Palm Springs International Dance Festival celebrates its spring gala with a two weeks series of professional performances and education programs for high school and college students.

Highlighted public events include Saturday, March 25th performance “Launch,” where Festival Founder, Michael Nickerson-Rossi, invites college directors to set premiere works on the professionals of the Nickerson-Rossi Dance Company.

The following week, Saturday, April 1st, is the festival’s gala event, this year benefiting the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center with a dance concert titled “Our Bodies.” All events take place at Nickerson-Rossi’s Dance House in Downtown Palm Springs, right next to Revivals!

Launch Dance Concert / When Academia Meets Professional / 6–7 pm / $45

• Nickerson-Rossi brings together the world of academia and professional concert dance in “Launch!” Nickerson-Rossi has invited college directors to set dance works on the professional Nickerson-Rossi Dance Company while he sets dance works on their college students! In this twist of roles, Michael aims to highlight the caliber of these college directors, provide high school students with resources for higher education, and celebrate the professional dancers of tomorrow - college dance artists!

RISE ABOVE Student Showcase / 5–6 pm / $20

• Celebrate young aspiring dance artists from various high schools, universities, and dance studios while they perform alongside other peers from around the world in our student showcase!
• Schools enrolled in this performance will be presenting all different genres of dance from modern, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, and more!

Our Bodies Dance Concert Benefiting Eisenhower Health Curci Cancer Center / 5–7 pm / $45.

• The Artistic Director of Nickerson-Rossi Dance, Michael Nickerson-Rossi, is passionate about his therapeutic outreach work. In this evening of concert dance, Michael shares his work with the  Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center in collaboration with the professional dancers of Nickerson-Rossi Dance and members of the Cancer Support Group.
• In a three-part series of dance works, Michael shares the stories of cancer survivors through the medium of dance.
•  Trauma, triumph, loss, and true love… be reminded why we fight to live and why sharing love is most valuable.
