Glow in the Park at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens present Glow in the Park select nights March 16th - April 28th.

Step into a magical world of lights this spring! With more than a hundred Chinese lanterns, hand crafted by artisans, Glow in the Park showcases the wonders of wildlife from across the globe and throughout time.

Back by popular demand, this family-friendly after-dark adventure is a “must-do” event this spring. Glow in the Park features larger-than-life displays inspired by the beauty of nature, dozens of interactive installations, fantastic photo ops, and, of course, the fan-favorite “magic” smoke bubbles.

Glow in the Park offers more than just unique sights, but an experience for all the senses. Be immersed in the captivating displays that invite you to step into the colorful world of birds, delve deep into the prehistoric past, explore the Chinese zodiac, and revel at the beauty of plants and animals from around the world. And don't miss the opportunity to light up your taste buds with specialty Asian-inspired dishes, American-style family favorites, and wonderfully wild themed cocktails.

Join us for The Living Desert’s inaugural pride event on March 21 at Glow with Pride!

This fabulous nighttime adventure features… 

•    A “Sequin Safari” theme. Bring your bling and dress to impress!
•    A LIVE broadcast with KGAY’s Morning DJ, John Taylor.
•    Hundreds of mesmerizing illuminated animal lantern sculptures.
•    Fantastic folks from our incredible community partners and LGBTQ-owned businesses.
•    Larger-than-life displays featuring blooming flowers, prehistoric creatures, iconic animals, and more!
•    Dozens of interactive art installations and exciting surprises.
•    The chance to explore the Zoo at night and visit your favorite animals along the African Safari trail.
•    Endless dazzling photo ops and selfie spots.
•    A special selection of drinks and cocktails.

4:30 – 5:00pm:

• KGAY sets up and starts live broadcast at 5:00 pm inside the park.

• KGAY live broadcast
• Invited organizations set up time for table displays.

6:00pm - 6:30pm:

• Last touches before gates open for the night. - TLD
• Bella Da Ball (6:00pm – 9:00pm)- Front gate
• Cheeky Charity – City of PD proclamation - Front gate

6:30pm - 7:00pm:

• Glow with Pride festivities – DJ Mod Girl (Palm Garden), Silent Disco (Legacy Garden), Community outreach.
• Bella Da Ball – Helps welcome and create energy at the beginning.
• KGAY – John Taylor to hand out limited edition stickers -300 qty.
• KGAY concludes the live broadcast at 7:00 pm.
• Bella Da Ball – Walks around handing out “Queen Court” lanyards – to be used to help pick finalists for the costume contest. Total of five (5) will be handed out. Bella will tell guests who receive it to meet at Palm Gardens at 8:30pm.

7:00pm - 8:00pm

• Glow with Pride festivities - DJ Mod Girl (Palm Garden), Silent Disco (Legacy Garden), Community outreach.
• Bella Da Ball – interacts with guest

8:00pm - 8:30pm:

• Glow with Pride Festivities – Costume Contest – Meet in Palm Garden at 8:30pm.

• Bella Da Ball will take photos with queen’s court and pick a favorite - DJ Mod Girl will help with music and energy.

Glow in the Park will be closed on Mondays, except March 25 and April 1
6:30pm-10:00pm, last admission is at 9:00pm
